{"title":"Film #17: Laugavegur (Iceland)","description":null,"products":[{"product_id":"iceland","title":"Laugavegur, Iceland","description":"\u003cp\u003eThe Laugavegur Trail - and to this day I still have no idea how to properly pronounce it - is a multi-day trek in Iceland that makes its way from the highlands toward the coast.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt passes through some of the most mind-blowing landscapes I’ve ever seen and is probably one of the most varied hikes I have ever done.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eStarting near Landmannalaugar, the trail first winds through rainbow-colored mountains and steaming volcanic vents before climbing over a mountain pass into a vast green valley covered in black sand, making it genuinely feel like you are walking on another planet.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eToward the end of the valley, approaching Þórsmörk, the landscape turns almost completely black from the volcanic rock, while bright green hills rise out of the terrain. One of the most recognizable of these is Mount Hattafell, shown in this photo.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI launched my drone, flew it far out into the valley, and zoomed in to capture this dramatic image. Iceland","description":"\u003cp\u003eThis is Skógafoss, probably the most famous waterfall in Iceland. The waterfall drops 60 meters (197ft) straight down and is one of the most impressive sights along Iceland’s southern coast.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI took this photo right at the end of my Laugavegur through-hike in 2023. I started deep in the Icelandic highlands near Landmannalaugar and followed the trail all the way toward the coast.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI felt quite rushed during this hike because I wanted to complete the roughly 70km (43mi) route in less than 24 hours before bad weather moved in.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis photo was taken near the very end of the trail, and you could already clearly see the weather deteriorating in the background. Dark clouds rolled in while dramatic light illuminated the waterfalls cascading down toward the black sand below.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI launched my drone to capture the full scene, and it ended up becoming one of my favorite photos from Iceland.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIceland truly feels like a land full of wonders, with landscapes unlike anywhere else I’ve ever seen. During this single trail, I passed brightly colored mountains, volcanic steam vents, glaciers, deep river valleys, green hills, and massive waterfalls.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAbsolutely
